The Best Resources To Get Started With Real Estate Investing

So real estate investing has piqued your interest, but you’re not really sure where to get started. Sure, you’ve seen people in HGTV and Instagram get get rich off of investing in real estate, but how? Maybe you think it seems too good to be true or way too complicated that once you start to look into it you get overwhelmed.

Well, that’s why I’m here! I’m a newbie real estate investor with 1 property and thousands of hours of learning under my belt now. When I first became interested in real estate investing, I dove right in and consumed as much knowledge as possible. I spent 2 years learning before I got an offer accepted on my first deal.

With that first deal, my husband and I created almost $100,000 of equity and a rental property that cash flows every month.

In the post I’ve put together for you the cream of the crop real estate investing education resources out there!

I’ll share my favorite:

  1. Podcasts

  2. Books

  3. YouTube Channels

Podcasts

This is where I first went to to consume all of the real estate education content. Here are some of my favorite Podcasts:

  1. BiggerPockets

BiggerPockets is a Real Estate Investing community that has multiple mediums of education. Their podcasts are my favorite way to keep up to date with them and my go to on my podcasts subscriptions. They have a few different podcasts you can choose from: The Original BiggerPockets Podcast, The Real Estate Rookie, and The Real Estate InvestHER show. If you’re a newbie, I would definitely recommend starting with the Rookie show from episode 1, but don’t be afraid to dive into the OG show. A lot of these episodes are interviews with investors who share their journeys and you’re able to learn so much from each of them.

  2. The Real Estate Strategies Podcast with Ken McElroy

I really like this show because not only does Ken interview guests about their journey with real estate investing, but he also regularly teaches concepts and talks about the current market. This one is a great show to subscribe to and listen to every week to up to REI education game.

  3. The Ryan Pineda Show

Ryan talks to a variety of real estate professionals on his show, but he also include entrepreneurs from a variety of industries as well. The thing I love most is Ryan’s energy and anything is possible mentality. He really makes you believe that you can accomplish anything you really want. On this show you will learn through entrepreneurs telling their stories and how they rose up from adversity.

Books

YouTube

I’ve heard the term “YouTube University” thrown around a few times, and its absolutely correct! If you want to learn anything, search it on YouTube!

BiggerPockets: Once again BiggerPockets has this medium covered. They have multiple channels worth tuning into and pump out a lot of great content with videos ranging from 5 minutes to an hour plus of the podcasts episodes filmed.

Graham Stephan: Graham is considered a YouTube legend but he started out as a Real Estate Agent turned investor. A lot of his earlier content included his real estate journey and a lot of his newer content focuses on index fund investing and frugal living. These are more “how to” and the benefits of real estate investing videos. So much great knowledge can be absorbed from this channel!

One Rental At A Time: Not only is this one of my recommended REI books, but this is my go-to channel EVERY morning for financial and real estate news. Michael Zuber pumps out the content, usually about 5, 15 minute videos every day! He does a daily financial news video every morning as well as interview different experts on different real estate and financial topics. I love this channel because its so raw and real. No crazy editing or click bate headlines. This is just good old fashion proof that results come from putting in the work every day!

These are the resources that got me off the ground and into the world of real estate investing. I hope you’re able to consume this information and apply it to your future investing business. Happy deal hunting!
